1. Start with a season and map
The season selector changes the complete set of matches shown on the site. Match totals, circles, kill spots and the heatmap are all reloaded for that season, so historical and current-season samples are not intentionally mixed.
Next, select Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Rondo, Vikendi or Deston. Only maps with analyzed data in the selected season may appear, so the available maps and match totals can differ between seasons.
2. Choose circle or kill spots
Circle
This view overlaps the observed safe-zone centers and radii from matches to show where circles have formed frequently. Circle data belongs to the match, not to an individual player, because the same safe zone applies to everyone in that match.
Kill spots
This view shows where a tracked player was standing at the moment they killed an opponent. The position belongs to the player who recorded the kill, not to the opponent who died. Suicides are excluded, and multiple kills in one match may contribute multiple locations.
3. Compare circle phases
In circle mode, select the phase you want to inspect. You can view phases individually or combine them to compare how the observed distribution changes as matches progress.
Later phases can look lighter because fewer matches reach those stages and therefore fewer circles can be observed. A lighter late-phase layer is not by itself evidence of a loading or rendering error.
4. Read colors as relative density, not probability
Purple and blue areas contain relatively less overlapping data within the current selection, while yellow and red areas contain more. The scale is calculated relative to the selected season, map, mode and phase.
A red area does not guarantee the next circle or a safe, advantageous kill position. Treat the heatmap as a way to explore repeated observations, then consider the flight path, terrain, vehicles and other teams when making decisions in a live match.
5. Use opacity and center markers together
Lower the opacity when the heat layer hides buildings or terrain. A stronger layer is useful for seeing the overall pattern quickly, while a lighter layer makes it easier to compare observations with the underlying map.
Center markers show each circle center in circle mode and each individual kill location in kill-spot mode. Use the heat layer for broad distribution and markers when you need to inspect exact observed positions.
How to read the season-card numbers
The match total beside a map is the number of matches in that season and map. The “Kill spots” number in brackets is not the total number of kill coordinates. It is the number of distinct matches with at least one kill-location record. A match still counts once in this summary when it contains several kills.
